About Us

In June of 2006, Anna Marie’s Alliance submitted a proposal to the Otto Bremer Foundation for funding to develop and implement a Strategic Plan for Civic Engagement relative to the issue of domestic violence in our community.  Our proposal included the broader issue of engaging our community in educational and advocacy efforts that not only focus on reducing violence in the community, but would create networks of healthy relationship organizations including

businesses, the faith community, educational institutions, government, and healthcare.

In August of 2006 we received word that our proposal was approved. During the first phase of the project a consultant was hired to complete a community assessment.  This helped to establish base line information about the community’s awareness of the issue and community knowledge about the work of Anna Marie’s Alliance. One of the things we learned from this survey is that eight in ten respondents said that violence by a domestic partner is somewhat or very common in Central Minnesota. We also became aware that lack of understanding in the community about relationship violence is high.  After reviewing all of the data collected we began to unfold a strategic plan for community engagement in the greater St. Cloud area.  We have developed a Community Advisory Board composed of  leaders from various sectors in the community.

Our vision:

A Community Committed to Healthy Relationships

Our mission:

To Inspire Intentional Public Action to Cultivate Healthy Relationships in the various sectors of the community outlined in  paragraph one
